AHW Dancing with the Stars Draft: Week #6 Results!

Photo Credit: ABC / Dancing with the Stars
On tonight's episode of Dancing with the Stars, the pairs were given the task of performing in a switch-up challenge. The remaining eight stars and their partners were randomly paired into groups of four and had different styles of dance music thrown at them.  They had to improv dances with their partners and couples were "tapped out" one by one, until only one couple remained.  The winning couple scored 4 additional points to add to their main dance score (2nd, 3 points. 3rd, 2 points. 4th, 1 point.)  I thought it was a good challenge and showed which stars are truly doing the best.  What were my three favorite dances of the night?  Also, in terms of the AustHan's World Dancing with the Stars draft, which team came out of the night as the winner?

Three favorite dances of the night (in order of how well I liked them):
  1. Corbin and Karina:  Corbin danced Viennese Waltz inspired by the Game of Thrones - an idea that he came up with on his own.  The judges claimed it didn't fit the style of the Viennese Waltz enough and therefore gave him a 23.  A 23!  If it's not obvious, I hated everything about that.  Bill Engvall also scored a 23 and it was the lowest score of the night.  I don't care if the dance strayed some from the Viennese Waltz.  It was full of talent and acting and was deserving of a higher score.  Bruno even said "because you're so good."  Because he's so good?  Doesn't that mean you guys should be scoring him higher than the others instead of scoring him on a much different scale than the others?  Anyway, my point was proven later in the episode, when Corbin blew away the other three pairs in the switch-up challenge.  #TeamCorbina
  2. Elizabeth and Val:  They danced a Cha-Cha-Cha and scored the first 30 of the season, so I have to give them props.  It was a good dance and she is really talented.  Do I think this was the best dance thus far in the competition?  No, not really.  Do you think she really has what it takes to make the finale?  I guess time will tell.  (I think it's also somewhat important to note that Val and her were tapped out second during the switch-up challenge.  Intriguing considering that they're supposed to be the "best" of the season, right?)
  3. Brant and Peta:  Breta scored their first 10 of the season and ended with a 28 overall score on their Tango.  I loved this dance!  Brant has totally surprised me in this competition.  Before the season started, I was totally prepared to place him in the always growing group of "cute guys that can't dance" that the show always seems to cast.  But that would be totally wrong to do!  He may not have the experience that most of the others do, but he still works it every week.
Honorable mention this week definitely goes to Snooki and Sasha.  I loved their foxtrot this week and I felt that they definitely deserved higher than a 27, especially after Leah and Tony were given a 27. (No offense, but they are so much better!)

The draft results for Week #6:

#TeamHannah Scores: 23 (27) + 23 (24) + 28 (31) + 28 (32)  = 114 / 4
Average Score of  28.50
#TeamAustin Scores:  25 (27) + 27 (30) + 30 (32) + 27 (28)  = 117 / 4
Average Score of 29.25

*Score in parentheses is the adjusted score after the switch-up challenge.

This means that #TeamAustin took a week off from losing!  At the end of the episode, it was announced that nobody would be leaving the competition this week!  Apparently they had aired a number incorrectly during last week's episode and were afraid that it may have caused some inaccurate results.  So in other words, someone amazing was probably going to leave.  Or maybe someone caught it and complained so they had to do that.  The world may never know!  So, Austin gains 2 points this and nobody loses any.

Current AustHan's World Dancing with the Stars Draft Standings:
Team Hannah: 6 points
Team Austin: 2 points

With four stars eliminated from the show, only eight remain to dance for the
winning title!  Who do you think has what it takes?
