Hannah is buckwild about 'BuckWild!'

The show ‘BUCKWILD’ is about a group of teens (and/or people in their early 20s, I actually don’t know) that live in the good old hills of West Virginia.  Although I do not live in West Virginia, I actually only live an hour away from where this show is filmed.  Therefore, while a lot of the stunts they do are for the camera, I can assure you that this is not the first time that these stunts are being pulled.  People really do these things, and may I add, quite religiously.  I was never one for the country, or as some might say, hick, lifestyle, but it works for some people, especially Shain.

"It's awesome that the girls are in the
country now.  I don't even have to
drive into the city to get my flirt on!"
Which brings me to my first point: Shain is the “gold character” (this may or may not be a word/saying I just invented on the spot) for this show!  I’m an episode late in recapping, but this guy is THE PICTURE of what people in this area of the country are like.  He is that neighbor that is always doing something worth talking about.  And although I don’t know if he is given these hilarious lines to say, they work either way.  You cannot deny that he is *the* one to watch on this show. (Side note: I mean, did you see his appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon?  He brought Jimmy a mason jar full of deer meat and deer juices!  He was having a blast during the interview and could not sit still!  I’m telling you folks, Shain is the real deal!)

Now, to the point at hand: tonight’s episode.  Since this is the second episode, but only my first recap, I must point out the fact that the first episode was hilarious!  If you have not seen it, I really encourage you to watch it for it provides some good laughs (or at least it did for me!)  One notable part to mention would be when the girls found out they were being evicted from the house they were renting because there had been too many complaints filed about them.  Shain and Joey were around and acting like a bunch of fools while the girls freaked out about the latest discovery.  Shain and Joey had what looked like PVC pipe and were shouting to each other through it. “We’re homeless!” “Sucks for YOU!!!”  Oh wow, maybe one day I will recap the first episode because I could say so much about that one.  But for now, I’ll just stop here.

Being my first recap, I must point out the intros on this show and how much that I love and adore them.  “I’m Shain Gandee, and you know why they call me Gandee Candy? ‘Cause it’s trick-or-treat all year ‘round!!” (AMAZING)  As for the others, meh, sorry I don’t really care as much for the others. #TeamShain all the way!

Cara and Anna are still fighting. Cara is talking to a friend and thinking about possibility of having to move out if the drama continues.  Shae has a boyfriend but the friends do not like this guy.  They claim Shae is "different" around him, and even Shain doesn't like this guy apparently and "Shain likes everyone."

Next we have Shain and the guys putting a tarp down the side of the hill!  This should be fun!  People actually do this all the time during the summer!  One time I went to my friend's house for her sister's graduation party and there was one very similar to the one on this episode.  The country people absolutely love their homemade slip and slides.  Shain and the guys of course have their own twist on the slip and slide though.  They have introduced small inflatable pools to slide down in.  Wow! I could actually go for this!  Fun!

There is now a small party and Shain ends the party by firing a shot?? Can you get any more West Virginian?  I think not.  After the party, it has been said that Shae's boyfriend tried to hook up with her friend, Salwa, but Salwa didn't go along with it.  Ashley was informed and will be the one to beak this news to Shae later and a huge blowup is to be expected!

We are introduced to Shain's dad who is ALREADY a character in his own right. "I TOLD Y'ALL. IF YOU WANNA RIDE THE BIKE, WEAR THE HELMET!!!" (In this case, the bike is a dirtbike.) I have to give props to Shain's dad for being so caring and cautious though.  You don’t see much safety being forced in the country, but I guess he has to be cautious with Shain as his son.  Now I can only hope that we will get shown more of Shain's mom because I LOVE THIS FAMILY.

Cut to the girls having dinner together at Salwa's house.  The girls break it to Shae about her boyfriend.  Shae doesn't seem to care too much or something.  At one point, she seems not surprised and says she had earlier found texts on his phone from a girl.  She says she has nowhere to live if she leaves him and the girls say that she can live with them.  But then we get a Shae confessional where she is claiming that she doesn't know who to believe.  She doesn't think that her boyfriend would cheat on her, but she also doesn't know why her friends would make up the story they told her.

Shae then meets with her boyfriend to talk and see where they stand as a couple after what happened.  He cannot look her in the eyes throughout the whole conversation, which should be a dead giveaway that he is lying, but of course Shae seems to believe that he did nothing, as this clip ends with some joking around.. so I guess they are fine.

In this episode, Shain and Joey are on the quest to turn Tyler, the pretty boy, into a man.  As mentioned before, it started with having Tyler ride the dirtbike around the hills.  I feel it should be mentioned that the brakes were broken on said dirtbike.  Now, Shain has mentioned that Tyler has a fear of heights.  Shain and Joey have found a bridge for Tyler to jump off of because "if you wanna be a man, you can't be scared of anything!"  Tyler seems cautious about this and drags out the process for as long as he can, despite Shain and Joey shouting mean things to him.  Tyler jumps and overcomes his fear of heights!  What a man, what a man!

Now the girls are eating out together and Shae's boyfriend has joined them, which presents all sorts of awkwardness.  Shae and her boyfriend have worked things out and seem to be fine.  Shae tells Salwa she doesn't believe the story she told her.  This ends badly and we are shown Shae and her boyfriend kissing while the others have left them.  Some people never learn..

Cara returns for the first time post-fight.  Things seem to be calm between Cara and Anna again.  Shain, Joey, and Shae are hanging out at Shain's house.  Shain and Joey are shooting the gun from Shain's front porch. (Note: If you far enough out in the country, this stuff does actually happen.)  Joey touches the bug zapper that's hanging from the porch and gets zapped by it. (Note: If you’re a fan of Survivor, this show might just be the thing for you seeing as how Joey is the Skupin of BuckWild.)  Cara comes to the three and says they all should go to this party at a nearby club and Shain doesn't seem keen to this idea, but agrees to go with all of the others.  However, Shae will not be attending said party.

"I can't believe Shain's leaving the holler to go to the club.  He's only been in an elevator like one time and he got seasick!" -Ashley

Now it’s back to Shae and her boyfriend, who are not going to the club.  I swear Shae's boyfriend seems hyped up on drugs at all times.  So attractive.  I can see why Shae refuses to leave this guy.

A bodypainter has come to paint the girls' whole bodies.  All the while, the guys are loving this.  I really have to wonder though why these girls are getting their bodies painted to go to a club where it is going to be dark.  Cut to the club for the hyperglow party.  Shain is a deer in the headlights at the party because it was "the loudest thing he had ever heard!"  Of course, the girls take off their shirts because they just had to show off their bodypaint.  Well that's a little awkward.  Tyler and Cara are still supposed to be an item, but he is flirting with other girls at the party.  Shain is HAVING A PARTY.

"Somehow I ended up shirtless, down in the middle, dancing."  -Shain
"Dem girls are gonna get you in trouble.. that's what my daddy always said!" -Shain (I actually don't know if this quote is word for word.  MTV did not translate for me like it usually does.)

In a short clip during commercial, it shows the guys and Ashley in the woods with four wheelers.  It must be pointed that Ashley went along with the guys' plan and rode on the front of the four wheeler while one of the guys drove pretty fast.  Because that is going to end well.  It actually doesn't result in death, but Ashley does go flying off when the four wheeler is driven into the mud/water hole.

For Shae and her boyfriend's romantic date, they are going bowling! SO romantic!!  Jesse's friend was invited to the date apparently.  Shae is not pleased with all these "randos" being invited along and wishes she was at the party with all of the others.

Now we're back at the party, where everyone seems to be having a great time.  Two of the girls that Tyler has been talking to and dancing with have boyfriends and they confront Tyler.  This ends with one of the girls leaving her boyfriend to hang out with the guys and girls.  I can't decide if the boyfriend is being ridiculous by standing in front of the car blocking them from leaving, or if he's being the sane one because his girlfriend IS kind of crazy acting...

The episode ends with everyone talking the morning after about the party.  Cara and Tyler seem to be done with whatever the two of them had going on.  Well, that lasted long.  Preview for next week show Shae and her boyfriend fighting some more and Shae and Joey making out??? Okay, well there were probably more previews after this, but my DVR cut off so I guess I'll just have to let everything else come as a surprise to me next Thursday!

Buckwild airs at 9pm on Thursdays on MTV.
